My work is to explore the relationship between people and plants with plants as the carrier. In my life, there has always been the shadow of plants, such as the garden in my childhood memory home, I will collect plants mixed with books, as well as the education of Chinese culture from childhood and so on. I started to formally create plants in 2014, mainly focusing on painting. After coming to London, I subjectively began to have a variety of media attempts. I tried to make some new breakthroughs and attempts in materials, and I began to be more interested in using collage and sculpture to express this theme. In the first unit, I made some small collages and models about the garden. In my opinion, people can't leave the city, but they need a spiritual sustenance. The garden of the city becomes the habitat of the spirit.

I will be in unit 2, I will be specific to the relationship between people and plants in the indoor environment. The relationship between human beings and family plants is a relationship of dependence and care. Plants can arouse a kind of sympathy. In terms of materials, I chose cloth collage. As described by Magdalena Abakanowicz, a Polish Artist: "fabric is our covering and our attire. Made with our hands, it is a record of our souls.". This kind of temperature is also what I like to convey to the audience. People and plants are interdependent, and plants can comfort people's hearts.

Group exhibition in Beijing
6th August,2020

Fortunately, in early August, my work was selected into the contemporary young artists' group exhibition, which is located in the time square Gallery in Chaoyang District, Beijing. I was very excited to hear this news. There are a total of 7 works that were selected, including 2 previous paintings and 5 soft sculptures. Most of the works are new ones I created in unit 3. In this way, I can have a physical exhibition before graduation.

There are five artists in this exhibition. In addition to my works, there are also bronze sculptures. It the beginning, I did not have any specific ideas, but a big direction is to make my works interesting, instead of just putting them on the wall. There can also be communication between my works. On the day of the exhibition arrangement, I went to the exhibition very early and talked about my idea of exhibition arrangement with the curator. After learning about my ideas, she agreed with me and encouraged me to design the exhibition boldly. In this exhibition, I used hanging on the roof, placed on the ground, on the table and on the wall. In terms of color, I used blue and yellow as the main color. So even if it is all over the place, it does not look messy.

Here, I would like to emphasize the combination of the sofa and my works. I would like to emphasize that artificial plants can be seen everywhere in our daily life. My first choice is the combination of refrigerator and plant works. Due to the limited conditions, only chairs can be selected. However, when I put the work on the yellow leather chair, I felt that my work immediately became vivid. I found that the yellow leather chair is also a good choice.
Thanks to the trust of the curator, this time I designed and arranged my own works according to my ideas. When my works are placed in a physical space and combined with the surrounding environment, I find that my works are more complete. I am honored to have such an opportunity and try.

In my personal view, if you want to be a successful artist, it does not just rely on a moment of enthusiasm. It takes a long time and energy, and we need to keep challenging ourselves.

In the future art road plan, first of all, the most important is to continue to create more and more work. By studying in UAL, I saw a lot of exhibitions and learned practical methodology. I am very grateful for this experience, although very short, but it let me gain a lot. What I have seen and learned is very helpful to my future creation. At present, I have no plan to do my Ph.D. Maybe in a few years, when I need to enrich myself again, I will choose to continue reading again. Therefore, my main energy is my own personal creation. I hope in the next few years, I can have more and better works out.

Secondly, I will find a part-time job to support my creation, at present, I have two ideas. One is to go to the gallery to find the right job, the other is to be a part-time art teacher, so I will have relatively much time to create. The material basis is the premise, there is such a stable foundation, in addition to the creation of I can have no livelihood concerns.

Finally, it is also important to contribute more to the gallery. This will make more people know you and let them see your work. Therefore, I actively contribute to the official or private art galleries, galleries. In addition, art needs to communicate, I will often go to the exhibition and like-minded friends to discuss.

One Day Show 2020
3th March

This semester's results show that it is not the same as Unit1's. First of all, this is a cross-pathway group exhibition. The students of fine art three majors work together to set up and remove the exhibition. Second, this exhibition is divided into groups according to the theme of creation. I think this is very good because although everyone's works are in different forms, they are related to each other to some extent. In this exhibition, I think it is very meaningful. Though the formal exhibition only takes about one hour, we need to spend a day negotiating the move in and move out. Some students are working together for the first time, but everyone is working together for a goal.

We were the first group and the space was also temporary and had not been cleaned. Therefore, the first thing we needed to do was to clean up the exhibition space. We needed to take out our own works, then we discussed and select the works to be displayed and the places to be placed. In this part, we spent a lot of time discussing, because everyone had their own ideas, which needed to be negotiated. In the process of setting up the exhibition, every student was very serious. In order to put the work in a proper position, we adjusted together or even readjusted the original adjusted work. Here, I sincerely thanked the students who participated in the exhibition. For example, my work Hug needs to be hung, they helped me to find a large ladder. There is another work of mine, Utopian Garden. In order to find a table of the right size, we have many ideas. From the ordinary square table to a small table of the right size, it seems to be just for my work.

At last, Dan had a simple discussion with us around 3:30 p.m. before the end of the discussion, we had a continuous audience. Although there is only one hour for the exhibition, we also hope it wants to be a formal exhibition. We have designed our own posters and prepared drinks. We also invited other professional friends to visit. In a small space, there are many people watching. An hour passed quickly, and I was reluctant to withdraw the achievements of the day's efforts.

First effect Final effect
POP -UP SHOW 2019
11th December

Pop-up show is our first show since the beginning of school. Although it is not so formal compared with the exhibition, it is a good practice and experience for me. In this show, I exhibited three parts of my works, first of all, three pieces of collage series on paper, then a three-dimensional collage, and finally a display of cactus installation works.

The reason why I chose these works is that these works can see my different attempts to this kind of art form of collage and my transition from plane works to three-dimensional works.

Because I have no experience in displaying an exhibition, at first, I am totally at a loss. After repeated attempts, some works are on the wall and some works are on the ground.

Take my small sculpture installation as an example. Initially, I put them on a long table. Later, I thought that the table was too big but the work was too small, so I changed a smaller table. Because these sculptures seem to be too beautified and designed, I finally removed the table and put them on the ground at the suggestion of Geraint. What's interesting is that he suddenly mixed the real plant potted plants with my plant works, forming an effect that is hard to distinguish between the true and the false. Later, after the curator came to see it, he also felt that the effect was very good. It seems that different ways of exhibition directly affect the effect of the works.

Although the show only lasts for two hours, I think it's a meaningful learning experience. Learn to negotiate and cooperate with my classmates as a team to arrange exhibitions, so that there is no in disorder between works and works; learn how to present your works, so that the audience will have different views.

Lunar New Year 2020
16th January --- 14th Febuary

I think it is also an important learning aspect to participate in the exhibition. In an open exhibition hall, the placement of your works, the reaction and evaluation of the audience to your works, etc. These are helpful to the improvement of the works in the future. Therefore, I will strive for various opportunities to participate in the exhibition. At the beginning of 2020, I was very lucky to be selected into the new year's exhibition. This is my first relatively formal exhibition in school. I cherish the opportunity to let my works be seen by more people.
